The Progressive Cardiac Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 32-bed unit consisting of 20 telemetry and 12 ICU step-down beds. The unit cares for highly acute cardiac medicine patients with diagnoses such as acute MI cardiomyopathy dysrhythmia and heart failure. Treatments are primarily medical but frequently include intervention in the Cardiac Cath & Electrophysiology lab including stent placement ablation PPM/AICD implantation or TAVR.
Due to the chronicity of cardiac disease the Registered Nurse will have the opportunity to form strong positive relationships due to the extended stays of many patients and their families. This unit is resourced a full-time monitor watch tech to assist in early detection of EKG changes and to alert staff of lethal rhythms. Staff on the floor will gain experience with vasoactive drip titration Swann-Ganz catheters LVADs phlebotomy & IV insertion ACLS and palliative care.
Shift: PRN requires a minimum of 2 12-hour shifts in a 6-week schedule

Salary Range: Minimum 51.52/hour - Maximum 51.52/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
