Responsible for performing nutritional screens of in-patients to assess nutrition risk based on established criteria. Obtains food preferences of patients. Provides basic explanation to the patient of the nutrition plan regarding modified diets and potential drug-food interactions when applicable. Updates patient Cardex as necessary. Assures that patients receive correct meals/nourishments per diet order and directs cooks and diet aides in the correct preparation and delivery of patient meals. Confers with Dietitians cooks diet aides and other medical staff for food and nutrition continuity and to optimize nutritional care. Assists in training new employees and dietetic interns. Participates in committee staff meetings as assigned. Participates in the clinical/interdepartmental Quality Improvement. Completes month-end food service costs as assigned. Completes clerical and department in-services ordering of supplies as assigned by Director.
Qualifications :
What is required...
- Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or be enrolled in either an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nutrition program or an accredited Diet Technician program
- Possesses and maintains a current state certified food handlers permit

- Previous food service experience desired
- SERV-SAFE Certification through the National Restaurant Association
Additional Information :
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $21.10/hour and goes up to $33.94/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience.
Shift Differentials apply; Evenings (3p-11p) $2.00/hour Nights (11p - 7a) $3.00/hour Weekends $4.00/hour.
This position may also qualify for an additional 15% premium in lieu of benefits.
