Career Consulting Partners is working with a corporate firm that is looking to expand its Labor and Employment Department. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor & Employment Defense Attorney with 3 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Pasadena. This role is crucial for an attorney who can handle the majority of defense work independently and has a strong background in PAGA defense. Candidates with limited exposure to PAGA such as 6 months to 1 year will also be considered but must be looking to further grow in this field. We also offer a flexible hybrid work schedule allowing a balance between time in the office and working from home
Duties:
Manage and handle all aspects of employment defense litigation primarily focusing on general matters and preparing complex cases for potential outsourcing.
Represent clients at all levels including administrative agencies state and federal courts and through the entire litigation process up to jury trials.
Advise and defend management in all business and employee-related matters including the Defense of Wage and Hour claims and ideally PAGA defense.
Provide Advice & Counsel to clients on day-to-day employment issues such as interviewing hiring terminations and role classifications.
Work proactively with business owners to develop programs that reduce the risk of disputes including drafting and updating Employee handbooks Employment policies and agreements.
Assist in matters involving unfair competition & trade secret matters.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and client service while consistently meeting an annual billable hour requirement of 1600 hours.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the State Bar of California.
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Labor and Employment Defense representing management.
Preferred experience handling defense of PAGA claims.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Wage & Audits and liability exposure for employers
Proven ability to work independently manage a substantial caseload and meet billable hour targets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Compensation:
Compensation: $120000 - $21000
