About the Role
As SENCO your responsibilities will include:
Leading the strategic and operational development of SEND provision
Overseeing the identification assessment and support of students with additional needs
Managing EHCP processes reviews and statutory paperwork
Supporting classroom teachers with differentiation and inclusive classroom practice
Line-managing TAs and contributing to whole-school SEND CPD
Monitoring student progress and coordinating targeted interventions
Working closely with parents carers and external agencies
Ensuring all SEND-related policies procedures and compliance are fully up to date
Playing an active role in the pastoral and safeguarding structures of the school
This is a key leadership role requiring strong communication organisation and a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for all learners.
Experience and Qualifications
Qualified SENCO (NASENCO) or willingness to complete the qualification
QTS (PGCE or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies
Experience supporting SEND in a secondary school setting
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
Salary
Paid to scale MPS/UPS TLR depending on experience and responsibility level.
