TheMaxwell Underground Mine owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life the underground mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To support our ongoing growth we currently have an opportunity for a Surface Conveyor Coordinator to join our Team. Reporting to the Infrastructure Superintendent the Conveyor Coordinator is responsible for the online and offline inspections and maintenance activities of all conveyors in the Maxwell infrastructure area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Promote a safe working culture and ensure conveyor operations comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation Mining Regulations and site procedures.
  • Coordinate daily inspections reporting and housekeeping of conveyor systems including belt tracking surveying splicing drive systems and guarding.
  • Develop and maintain conveyor inspection schedules ensuring critical defects are identified and escalated.
  • Monitor belt performance tonnage throughput and downtime trends to recommend improvements.
  • Scope schedule and oversee conveyor belt maintenance repairs and shutdown works.
  • Review maintenance strategies for accuracy / effectiveness propose improvement opportunities where identified.
  • Liaise with external contractors and supervise as required for belt audits splicing pulley changes and component replacements.
  • Coordinate with CHPP Logistics and Infrastructure teams to align conveyor availability with coal production requirements.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements progress and issues clearly with supervisors and operations teams.
  • Ensure conveyor spare parts inventory is managed and critical spares are available

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience in supervision of safe conveyor operations and maintenance activities.
  • Certificate of proficiency in a mechanical trade.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and regulations
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of Pulse Maintenance System
  • Contractor management skills

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Order 43 medical including drug and alcohol.
