Summary of the Job:

The Senior Associate Exam and Audit Coordination serves as the strategic liaison between FNBOs Financial Crimes Program and regulatory bodies independent auditors model validators and compliance reviewers. This key position requires expertise in BSA/AML/OFAC compliance frameworks and a comprehensive understanding of financial crime prevention strategies. The role demands a proactive professional who can navigate complex regulatory landscapes while representing FNBO with the highest standards of integrity and competence.
As a critical component of the banks risk management structure this position ensures the Financial Crimes Program effectively meets evolving regulatory requirements while continuously improving internal controls. The ideal candidate will balance technical expertise with exceptional project management and relationship-building capabilities to achieve consistently favorable examination outcomes.

About This Role:

Examination and Audit Oversight

  • Lead end-to-end management of regulatory examinations independent audits model validations and compliance reviews ensuring optimal coordination between all stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and official bank representative during all Financial Crimes Program assessments
  • Orchestrate timely and thorough responses to information requests ensuring the program is presented accurately and comprehensively

Regulatory Relationship Management

  • Develop and nurture productive working relationships with regulators and auditors
  • Effectively manage regulatory expectations while advocating for the banks interests
  • Translate complex regulatory guidance into actionable implementation plans

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive remediation efforts for identified issues ensuring timely resolution and effective communication
  • Independently solve complex problems by leveraging industry knowledge and creative thinking
  • Maintain consistently satisfactory or better results across all examinations audits and model validations
  • Actively seek regulatory expectations and trends through public and peer information

Enterprise Coordination

  • Cultivate deep understanding of FNBOs business lines processes and control frameworks across the organization
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to address examination findings and implement remediation plans
  • Build collaborative relationships with program directors to ensure aligned messaging and consistent execution

This position requires someone who can confidently represent FNBOs Financial Crimes Program while continuously strengthening its effectiveness through strategic insight and exceptional execution.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance financial crimes prevention regulatory examination management or related roles within banking or financial services.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations examination procedures and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple complex examinations and audits simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in compliance data analysis tools documentation management systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel PowerPoint Word).
  • Superior analytical abilities to interpret examination findings identify root causes and develop effective remediation strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts to various stakeholders including senior leadership and regulators.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results within strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Financial Crimes certification (CAMS CAMS-Audit or similar professional certification preferred

Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $80061.00-$132099.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience education and/or skill level.

Work Environment:

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team youll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
