The Lead Contract Manager an experienced contract expert reporting to Region Contract Management Leader or if dedicated to a particular project the Project Manager/Director is responsible for supporting project teams on contractual & commercial matters relating to the negotiation administration and performance of projects and various contractual relationships thereto including towards customers consortium partners suppliers and subcontractors.

Roles and Responsibilities
ITO Phase (pre-award)
Reviewing and redlining customer tender documents sub-contracts consortium agreements pre-bid agreements etc with focus on scope payment process change order/variation order process claim management bonds insurance extension of time provisions etc.
Working with ITO teams to implement risk control & mitigation through structured exchange of return of experience
Providing support in T&C negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
OTR Phase (post-award)
Responsible for management and administration of all project contractual activities from handover to OTR team and until all contractual obligations are complete and all contractual issues whether facing customer or supplier/subcontractor are resolved.
Implementation of mandated contract management process.
Identify GE as well as customer/consortium and other third-party obligations and develop and implement the project commercial execution plan including project claim strategy.
Ensuring regular review of risks and events and maintaining contemporary records in collaboration with project team/other functions for on time issuance of notifications and correspondence to preserve GE rights and remedies.
Managing change orders and variations as well as making claims facing customer partners suppliers and subcontractors and defence of claims made against GE.
Managing project insurance policies as per GE procedure. Compilation of data and evidences in support of notification submission & settlement of insurance claims.
Providing advice on contract interpretation and for negotiation of claim settlements with customer partners suppliers and subcontractors.
Providing support as required to legal teams for Alternate Dispute Resolution / Formal Dispute Resolution & Litigation proceedings.
Periodically share best practices and lessons learnt with project and functional teams.
Any other commercial/contractual task as may be requested management.
Required Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in Contract Management alongside understanding of turnkey EPC projects.
Bachelors degree in Engineering Quantity Surveying or Business Administration from an accredited university or college is required.
Formal legal/contract management training would be an advantage.
Understanding of technical commercial and legal principles in contract management.
Ability to perform as an individual contributor or collaboratively in a team with proven interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Problem solving analytical skills and ability to address multiple competing deadlines in a strong matrix organisation.
