Job Summary

Your day-to-day duties will include but not limited to

  • Manage analyze and profile information generated by Crime Information systems
  • Conduct data interrogation analysis and profiling on Crime Information related database systems
  • Detecting of patterns and trends in data related to priority crimes and security risks
  • Conduct comprehensive reconstruction analysis on identified trends
  • Accurate and comprehensive identification of crime and security threats
  • Timely comprehensive and accurate response to urgent requests from Management
  • Ensure Discretion and confidentiality
  • Adhering to Safety Regulations The Act Codes of practice and standards
  • Vetting of vendors and presenting identified risks to Business
  • Provide comprehensive and accurate output on Crime Information systems
  • Compile comprehensive and accurate reconstruction analyses charts
  • Conduct all work according to applicable and required legislation policies standards and procedures to ensure output is admissible criminal court evidence
  • Execute the System and Crime reporting protocol (including manuals policies and procedures)
  • Provide efficient collaboration and assistance in investigations
  • Provide comprehensive accurate and in-depth feedback presentations on findings identified patterns trends and threats
  • Effective Inter-department/unit communication and correspondence with all relevant role-players

This role is at a C4 level reporting to the Protection Services Analyst

Good employee relations

  • Effective two-way communication in FIU unit
  • Develop a trusting and mutual respect relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that employees work in a safe and productive environment and set targets for improvements
  • Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees especially in terms of new systems and work practices
  • Identify potential conflict situations and minimize the implications
  • Identify ideas to increase motivation and competencies

Qualifications :

  • Grade 12
  • Registered with PSIRA Grade B
  • Valid drivers license code B will be advantageous
  • NQF level 5 qualification related to Security risk management Crime analysis research management or Policing will be advantageous or RPL or Relevant experience in the role

Experience:

  • At least 4 years practical experience in Police or Security related environment.

Technical knowledge (experience) required for role:

  • Advanced level of computer literacy: MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of applicable business communication
  • English proficient Write speak and read
  • Crime analysis applications (Analyst Notebook (or iBase) systems or Crime intelligence or equivalent applications)
  • Analytical ability and conceptual skills relating to:
  • Reconstruction analysis
  • Statistical analysis
  • Trend analysis (Time-line & Geographical)
  • Understanding and recognition of criminal incident behavior and
  • Suspect profiling

You will also need to have:

  • No criminal record
  • Pass polygraph test
  • Computer Literacy
  • Good command of English language both written and speaking

If successful you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification.
