RN Med/Surg Telemetry Traveler (Nights)
Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe and effective patient care on Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. The RN performs assessments administers medications monitors patient conditions and delivers evidence-based nursing care in alignment with unit standards and hospital protocols. This role requires the ability to float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units based on staffing and patient needs. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary team members supports patient education and maintains accurate clinical documentation throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide direct nursing care within Med/Surg and Telemetry units according to established clinical standards.

Perform patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.

Monitor cardiac telemetry interpret rhythms and report abnormal findings promptly.

Administer medications treatments and interventions safely and accurately.
-
Document assessments interventions and patient progress in the medical record.
-
Educate patients and families regarding care plans medications and discharge instructions.
-
Collaborate with physicians care managers and interdisciplinary staff to support patient outcomes.
-
Float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units based on operational needs.
-
Maintain adherence to infection control safety and patient privacy standards.
-
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions as needed.
Qualifications -
Current and valid Illinois RN license.

Current BLS (AHA) certification.
-
Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience in an acute care hospital.

Competency in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
Shift Details -
Night shift traveler assignment.

Must be able to float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units.

Schedule based on departmental needs.
