Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care focusing on pediatric patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and pre-testing environments. This role involves direct patient care assessment and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is required.
Location:Washington District of Columbia United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in the PACU and pre-testing areas.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington D.C. (or proof of pending application with the Board of Nursing for at least 3-4 weeks).
- 2-3 years of experience in Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care and Pre-Testing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Special Considerations:
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Missed shifts due to call-outs must be made up at the end of the contract.
- Modules are required to be completed within the first week of the assignment.
- Final Direct Instructions (FDI) from the client do not constitute clearance to start; clearance must be obtained prior to the first day.
- No exemptions accepted.
Scheduling:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week Monday through Friday with a varying day off.
- Variable shift start times between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM).
- No weekends or holidays.
