Position Overview:

As an Engineering Technician on the Mercury Racing team you will be responsible for supporting the design testing and development of Mercury Racing outboards and sterndrive engines.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the design testing and development of Mercury Racing outboards and sterndrives. This includes:
    • Build instrument and test prototype assemblies
    • Provide design input for new engines and drives.
    • Assist in developing calibrations boat integration and optimize new products.
    • Document test results and provide feedback to the Engineering team to address issues
    • Rig and run various test fixtures / boats under a variety of conditions
    • Work with Manufacturing to develop best practices for assembly
  • Assist the Service group with analysis of returned field units to identify the root cause of failures

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Engine Technology or equivalent
  • 8 years of experience in engine testing and development work
  • Advanced mechanical capability to work on marine engines and related systems
  • Ability to fabricate hardware with or without the aid of a detailed drawing
  • Ability to interpret data and independently analyze component failures and recommend component or system changes
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support remote testing boat builders dealers races and events across the US

The anticipated pay range for this position is $61400-$98600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
