Where Youll Work
The Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley has 28 beds and sees approximately 60-80 patients per day. We are a Level III trauma stroke and STEMI receiving center and we have the capability to perform thrombectomies in collaboration with our Cath lab. We care for patients of all ages infant to elderly and with all types of injuries and complaints. Our mission is to provide excellent and compassionate emergency care to those in our community that trust us to care for them. We want our patients and their family members to know when they enter our ED they will be treated with respect dignity and receive phenomenal care.
Our ED team strives to be known for our great teamwork and we prioritize helping one another to ensure our patients feel our compassion and are satisfied with their care. We have very close relationships with our physicians and to be part of our team we look for someone who is hard working positive teachable and has a great caring attitude. Responsible for the development coordination and teaching of EMS courses and continuing education programs which meet established state and national standards.
Be a collaborative liaison between the EMS/Fire community the medical director and Enterprise. The EMS Coordinator will participate in appropriate committees and initiatives in EMS/Fire communities to ensure quality patient care across the continuum.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required
Experience:
- 5 years of related experience in emergency medical services (EMS) preferably in both: field (911 ambulance and/or fire agency) and in hospital.
- 3 years experience in instructing students by using adult learning principles and instructional methodologies.
- Prefer experience in developing education programs.
- Knowledge of the EMS Law Enforcement and Fire Department agencies in service area.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing raw data finding trends and preparing statistical reports.
- Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology disease conditions pharmacology cardiology treatment modalities therapeutic testing and interventions.
- Knowledge and experience in computer instructional technology and Microsoft Office Professional software.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Healthcare License and/or Paramedic Certification in state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required must obtain *BLS Instructor Certification with 1 year of hire/transfer at the
time of hire/transfer date candidate has BLS ACLS PALS Instructor Certifications than the basic BLS ACLS and PALS Certifications are not required. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA ACLS) within one year of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA PALS) within one year of hire.
