Job Description:

GUIDEWIRE TECHNICAL ACUMEN

  • Minimum 7 years experience in configuration and Guidewire Implementations in PolicyCenter BillingCenter and Integration
  • ACE Certified in Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • Hands-on experience working with Guidewire Cloud Platform

TRANSLATING VISION INTO ACTION

  • Communicate Technology Vision and Strategy to team and elicit feedback on a continuous basis
  • Provides technical vision and direction for deliverables 3-4 PODs
  • In charge of design and system architecture implementation for deliverables
  • Leads work package from inception to delivery managing timeline scope and resources effectively

SOLUTION DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION

  • In charge of Design and Architecture implementation for deliverables
  • Understands of all aspects of Development and Deliverables
  • Able to make key design decisions evaluating Short Term Gains against Long Term Sustainability. Ex: multi integrated vendor strategy

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP

  • Extensive understanding of the insurance business with deep expertise and specialized knowledge of technology concepts technical environment direction and related technology / tools
  • Provides technical guidance direction or expertise to others as a Senior Specialist or top technical lead on significant and complex development / design issues that may impact transformational technology or cross business strategic initiatives
  • Works autonomously on highly complex project/ issues which are diverse in scope and/or multi-faceted and often provides leadership and direction to the team
  • Foresee issues and gaps and identifies emerging industry trends (i.e. future-focused)
  • Builds and Leads Development Teams fostering a collaborative and productive environment
  • Identify team performance issues early and work with Senior Engineering Manager(SEM) on proposing paths of improvement for low performers on the team
  • Able to manage Crisis scenarios
  • Identifies and mitigates Technical Debt wherever possible with a conscious effort
  • Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions make recommendations assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards compliance reusability and ease of maintenance Operational Readiness Reviews and supporting gating and review sign-offs for solution design
  • Monitor service productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists
  • Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions / remediation plans to address performance / risk /governance issues

  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities including cross training within own team
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
  • Actively mentors and enables team members by sharing knowledge and leveraging engineering best practices.
  • Supports the team by providing guidance and proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Lead motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.
  • Contribute to a fair positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce
  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank both internally and/or externally
