Job Summary

Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to manage CI/CD pipelines infrastructure automation and cloud-native deployments in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Azure cloud services Kubernetes DevOps practices and infrastructure as code. You will play a key role in deploying managing and optimizing applications in Azure helping transform how government services are delivered across the state.

Work Location: Onsite (OPS Office)
Hours: Monday Friday 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (excluding lunch)

Key Responsibilities
  • Design build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of cloud-native applications in AKS.

  • Manage and automate infrastructure using Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.

  • Implement and manage Kubernetes deployments scaling and orchestration in AKS.

  • Work closely with development teams to embed DevOps tools and processes across the application lifecycle.

  • Monitor application health and performance using Azure Monitor Log Analytics and related tools.

  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and ensure application availability scalability and cloud security.

  • Create and maintain Helm charts and pipeline scripts for automated deployments.

  • Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines including build release and deployment workflows.

  • Implement best practices for container and cloud security including network controls and RBAC.

  • Automate testing and security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Optimize Azure resource usage for performance and cost efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience (60%)
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer focused on Azure and AKS.

  • Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes Docker and container orchestration.

  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash PowerShell or Python.

  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management.

  • Familiarity with Azure monitoring/logging tools (Azure Monitor App Insights Prometheus Grafana).

  • Strong understanding of Azure services: AAD VNets Azure Storage Load Balancers.

  • Experience with container and network security and Kubernetes RBAC.

  • Strong Git and version-control knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications (20%)
  • Certifications such as:

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

  • Experience with advanced deployment strategies: Blue-Green Canary etc.

  • Familiarity with Service Mesh (e.g. Istio).

  • Knowledge of Azure Key Vault Azure Policy and compliance/governance practices.

  • Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures in Azure.

Soft Skills (20%)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Passion for continuous learning and improvement in DevOps practices.

Education & Certifications
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (DevOps Engineer Expert Administrator Associate AKS Developer) are highly desirable.
