Job Summary

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (TorontoON)

Role Overview

The Senior Software Developer ETL is responsible for designing developing and delivering best-practice data migration solutions. The role oversees the full lifecycle of migrating data and files from legacy systems into a modernized platform ensuring accuracy integrity and compliance with information-management standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop end-to-end data migration strategies including data mapping interface definitions mock conversions and final conversion execution.
Analyze legacy systems and profile data across multiple formats and sources to identify cleansing enrichment and transformation requirements.
Build and execute ETL pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory Informatica or equivalent.
Perform data extraction cleansing transformation loading and auditing ensuring high-quality converted data.
Conduct post-migration reconciliation exception reporting defect analysis and data validation.

Translate technical specifications into working tested ETL components scripts and utilities.
Write complex SQL / PL-SQL queries for data validation reconciliation and transformation.
Manage file migrations and attachment migrations from legacy storage (e.g. Oracle BLOBs Azure Blob/File Share SharePoint).

Define testing strategies and plans for data conversion reconciliation and integrity validation.

Collaborate with business users architects DBA teams and developers to confirm to-be data requirements.
Provide pre- and post-conversion support including cutover assistance.

Document data mapping conversion rules data dictionaries technical designs and migration procedures.

Mandatory Requirements

7 years of experience in developing data conversion and migration.
Experience working in ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory Informatica etc.
Knowledge and experience in development of business case data migration strategy and plan.
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices.
Excellent understanding of master data and transactional data concepts and interdependencies.

Nice to Haves

Experience across full data migration lifecycle for large enterprise applications.
Knowledge of information management principles metadata master and transactional data.
Experience with document/attachment migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.
Background with Oracle SQL Server Azure SQL RDBMS structures and mainframe data formats.
Strong analytical investigative and problem-solving skills.
Experience in government or public sector environments (asset).
