At Opti its possible to design anywhere build anywhere given our company lives in the cloud! The Environmental Research & Analysis intern will be a remote position.

The Environmental Research & Analysis intern will work closely with Optis Director of Regulatory Affairs and Alliances and perform tasks that support Optis marketing and regulatory strategies. They will gain valuable insights relating to the use of digital technologies to optimize the performance of stormwater infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

Performance reporting of Optis CMAC systems
- Review and analyze performance data on Opti Portal
- Deliver summary reports and recommendations
Evaluate and analyze performance data to support marketing and regulatory efforts
Statistical analysis of large stormwater data sets
Assist with internal data management data entry and QA/QC efforts

Basic Qualifications

Currently pursuing concurrent degrees with demonstrated coursework in both data analysis (or a related field like statistics) and an environmental discipline (such as environmental science engineering or water resources management)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage time and work effectively in a remote environment
Knowledge of stormwater management principles and practices
Experience working with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Candidate Skills

Experience in processing raw data and analyzing it to form conclusions (statistical analysis not necessary)
Experience applying numerical methods to engineering problems.
Exposure to Python and/or GitHub.

MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program

Opti will participate in the MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program for this position. Program eligibility requires students to attend or have recently graduated within the past year from a Massachusetts college or university or they must be a Massachusetts resident with proof of residency who attended an out-of-state college or university. Students pursuing a masters degree are eligible for this program though Ph.D. candidates are not.
