Job Summary

Full Stack Developer

ASHM is a not-for-profit organisation seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to support our Digital and Technology division to develop maintain and enhance performance of our digital platforms.

About you

The Full Stack Developer plays vital role in advancing ASHMs digital maturity. Working closely with the Director of the Digital Experience and Technology this position supports the development maintenance and enhancement of our web applications and website ecosystem. Responsible for both front-end and back-end development tasks and projects designing developing testing and implementing new features & digital products; troubleshooting issues and enhancing user experience to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our digital platforms.

Employment Status: Fixed term full-time 2 years contract

Salary: 80K to $100K super salary packaging

(offered salary will be based on skills and experience)

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development:

  • Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML CSS JavaScript and modern frameworks (React Angular )
  • Validate UI/UX designs for feasibility and optimise applications for performance scalability and data integrity.

Back-End Development:

  • Build and maintain server-side applications and databases to achieve robust and scalable solutions.
  • Implement APIs and integrate with third-party services.

Full Stack Integration:

  • Ensure smooth integration of front-end and back-end systems providing a cohesive user experience.
  • Collaborate with developers designers and stakeholders to deliver functional and efficient solutions.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Identify and resolve technical issues across web applications and platforms.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure security and functionality.

Project Management and Documentation:

  • Support project planning and management ensuring timely delivery of development milestones.
  • Document technical specifications processes and best practices.

Quality Assurance:

  • Write and execute unit integration and end-to-end tests to uphold code quality and reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve codebase quality.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
  • Or corresponding work experience.

Essential:

  • 3-5 years of experience in full stack web development.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript and front-end frameworks).
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies ( Python Ruby Java PHP or similar).
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and tools such as LearnDash GrassBlade and Uncanny Toolkit.
  • Experience with WordPress and WP Engine.

Desirable

  • Experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Docker Kubernetes Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong skills in both front-end and back-end development technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues providing decision makers with an evaluated range of alternative options.
  • High attention to detail in code quality user experience and project execution.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and project requirements.
  • Effective team player who works well with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker who can implement innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • High ethical standards and compliance with cyber security policies and best practices.
