The Communications Associate will play an integral role in advancing Anzanas communications and brand strategy across the African continent. As a leading player in Africas renewable energy landscape Anzana is committed to driving sustainable development expanding clean energy access and shaping a resilient future-focused energy ecosystem.
This position is designed for a versatile proactive and highly skilled communications professional with strong writing abilities digital fluency and excellent coordination capabilities.
The ideal candidate will be deeply passionate about renewable energy climate innovation and development across Africa and will bring 5 years of strategic communications experience ideally within the renewable energy infrastructure climate or broader development sectors.
Working at both the group and country levels the Communications Associate will support media relations brand positioning web and social content and internal communications. They will ensure message alignment consistent brand representation and enhanced visibility across all markets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities independently collaborate effectively with senior leadership and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced and cross-country environment that reflects both the scale and ambition of Anzanas mission.
1. Media & Corporate Communications
Draft edit and distribute press releases media advisories blog posts and internal communications.
Prepare talking points event briefs and thought leadership content in coordination with leadership and partners.
Maintain up-to-date communications assets including company bios fact sheets and backgrounders.
Track summarize and report on media coverage across all markets.
Support planning of media events launches and speaking engagements.
2. Digital Web & Social Media
Manage Anzanas digital presence across social media platforms LinkedIn X (Twitter) etc. and other relevant platforms.
Develop and execute social media content calendars with engaging multimedia content.
Track analytics and insights to improve engagement and reach.
Manage updates to Anzanas website using tools such as WordPress Squarespace or similar CMS platforms.
Coordinate with design and web vendors to ensure content functionality and branding consistency.
3. Brand Marketing & Vendor Coordination
Support implementation of Anzanas brand identity and visual guidelines across all materials.
Contribute to design and production of marketing assets (brochures decks fact sheets investor presentations).
Coordinate storytelling photography and video documentation from field projects.
Align subsidiary branding and communications (e.g. Weza Power) with group standards.
Coordinate with external vendors - including designers photographers web developers printers and agencies - to deliver high-quality on-brand communications materials on time and within budget.
4. Cross-Company & Project Coordination
Liaise with communications focal points in subsidiary companies and project teams to align messaging and content.
Support internal communications initiatives and company newsletters.
Maintain communications archives shared drives and content libraries.
Assist in event planning conference visibility and stakeholder engagement activities.
Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Marketing Public Relations or a related field.
5 years of experience in communications marketing PR or corporate affairs.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently exercise sound judgment and deliver under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated experience working directly with senior leadership teams to craft and execute communication strategies.
Excellent writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience managing social media and web content for organizations.
Proficiency with website management tools (WordPress Squarespace Wix etc.) and basic digital analytics.
Familiarity with design and content tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Creative Suite Hootsuite).
Experience coordinating with vendors creative agencies or media service providers.
Background or strong interest in energy renewable energy infrastructure or development sectors.
Exposure to international donor relations impact investing or startup environments is a plus.
Strong organizational interpersonal and coordination skills able to work effectively across multiple teams and time zones.
