Job Summary

This is a key leadership role in our engineering organization with the title of Senior Software Manager based on the candidates experience and scope of contribution.

The candidate leads one or more engineering teams responsible for designing developing and delivering high-quality software products or platforms. This role balances technical leadership people management and strategic planning ensuring teams are aligned with business goals and engineering excellence.

You are contributing to the vision and execution of your product. You operate within the companys overall product strategy and in collaboration with Software Product Development and Management Leadership.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Lead coach and mentor a team of software engineers and technical leads.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration innovation accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance reviews set goals and support career growth.

Technical Oversight

  • Guide architectural decisions design reviews and code quality standards.

  • Drive technical roadmap in alignment with product and business strategy.

  • Stay hands-on as needed especially for complex system designs or troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of end-user needs or how engineering decisions impact the customer experience.

Project and Delivery Management

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to plan and prioritize software deliverables.

  • Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality scalable and secure software.

  • Use Agile or other methodologies and tools (Scrum Kanban Jira) to track progress and evolve software organization with continuous improvement.

  • Experience working in a global organization with geographically distributed teams and flexibility to engage across time zones as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with DevOps QA and Security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

  • Represent engineering in product planning release readiness and customer discussions.

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership on team performance risks and timelines.

  • Working closely with UX and/or Product Owners to ensure the product is intuitive and user-friendly.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.

  • 812 years of experience in software development.

  • 35 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of warehouse logistics expertise and subject understanding. While not necessary this experience is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent skills in one or more of the programming languages :

  • React and TypeScript

  • Azure Databricks pyspark Python LakeBase

  • Azure services (including Event Hub Cosmos Db) Python .Ne

  • Familiarity with microservices distributed systems and modern software architectures.

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform CloudFormation Ansible).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinking with a bias toward action and results.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Skilled in balancing technical depth with big-picture thinking to guide teams through architectural decisions trade-offs and scaling challenges.

  • Experience representing engineering in planning quarterly business reviews or strategy sessions.
