Laboratory Manager

Clean Harborsis looking for aLaboratory Managerat our El dorado AR location. Responsible for all lab operations and integration with other parts of the company/facility and oversight of employees ensuring the complex analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.

• Maintain a safe work environment that follows all state federal and company regulations.

• Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems.

• Maintenance of equipment including outside vendor scheduling per maintenance contract schedules and suggests solutions to equipment problems and new/replacement laboratory equipment.

• Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion.

Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines.

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors

• Bachelors degree in chemistry Biology Environmental Science or a related science highly preferred

• 5 years supervisory experience with direct reports preferred

• 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred

• Instrumentation knowledge preferred: GC Mass Spec AA ICP Ion Chromatography Calorimetry

• QA/QC experience and production

• 24- or 40-hour OSHA training

• Manage sample shipments and obtain DOT training

• Manage air monitoring equipment for the site

• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills

• Ability to build rapport through regular conversations with staff
