Position: ILST
Position Summary
Independent Living Skills Trainers develop services designed and directed at the development and maintenance of the program participants ability to independently sustain themself physically emotionally and economically in the community. This position helps people who need help to learn physical mental social or financial skills due to a brain injury.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with independent living tasks such as self-care medication supervision task completion sensory motor skill building mobility socialization benefits/resource coordination and household management.
- Maintain client care plan.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Comply with all laws regulations and standards.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree 1 year experience with individuals with disabilities OR
- Associate degree in social services/human relations 2 years experience OR
- Enrollment in a related degree program 3 years similar experience OR
- 4 years direct care experience with brain injury or cognitive disability in home hospital or rehab settings
Special Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License & clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Proof of personal vehicle insurance with 100000/300000 liability limits on the vehicle driven for work
- Access to a reliable automobile
