Foodservice Manager Location: Arlington IL 60004
Compensation: $50000-$55000 annually DOE Full-Time
Job Summary
Lead the dining operations that make our senior living community feel like home! As Foodservice Manager youll ensure every meal is nutritious delicious and served with care. Youll oversee daily production staff leadership and compliance while maintaining a safe welcoming environment. Youll also partner with the Food Service Director to craft menus engage residents and continuously elevate the dining experience. What Youll Do
- Oversee meal production and service to ensure quality safety and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure dietary needs preferences and special diets are met and communicated to staff.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and resolve concerns.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage food storage inventory and ordering within budget guidelines.
- Monitor food costs waste and portion control for efficiency.
- Hire train schedule and lead food service staff.
- Conduct inspections and maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Collaborate with other departments to support care plans and events.
- Drive continuous improvement and participate in meetings and initiatives.
- Other duties as directed.
What You Will Bring
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of dietary standards special diets and food safety principles.
- Familiarity with budgeting cost control and kitchen operations.
- Ability to lead train and motivate food service staff.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and maintaining a safe organized environment.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk; ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
- State/County Food Handler Certification - if required.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes airborne particles and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods lift trays and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions extreme temperatures and vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
