What does the role involve

Reporting to the People Director youll join a supportive team of two People Business Partners and gain exposure to skilled HR professionals. You will provide administrative coordination and operational support across the employee lifecycle with the opportunity to work autonomously and share your ideas in a team that genuinely listens and values your input.

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Driving recruitment activity by coordinating ads managing candidates and supporting engaging interview experiences.
  • Owning our HR systems (HRIS LMS Intranet page) to keep employee data accurate compliant and running smoothly.
  • Powering the employee lifecycle by coordinating seamless onboarding offboarding contracts and payroll actions.
  • Being an active ambassador in organisational subcommittees including Culture Lab and other people-focused initiatives.


This role is based in our Mascot office and will work a hybrid model including two days in the office per week.

Who are we looking for

The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to Caritas Australias mission to end poverty and injustice by promoting human dignity for all as well as a dedication to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching that guide our global efforts. They will have a mix of the following qualifications skills and experience:

  • 23 years experience in a Human Resources role within the non-profit sector with hands-on experience in recruitment and HR systems.
  • A self-motivated and proactive team member who can work autonomously adapt quickly and thrive in an evolving organisation.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation.
  • A strong understanding of confidentiality professionalism and working with integrity at all times.
