Job Description Summary
The Service Project Manager is responsible for managing service and maintenance contracts for STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) installations across Central Europe. The role includes full ownership of project execution ensuring operational excellence customer satisfaction and profitable growth. The position requires close collaboration with clients third-party service providers and internal GE teams to deliver lifecycle services support tenders with operational expertise and build long-term strategic relationships.
Job Description
Main responsibilities
- Manage and execute service & maintenance contracts for STATCOM projects ensuring contractual obligations quality and HSE compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers driving satisfaction trust and long-term partnerships.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party service companies subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support tender and bid preparation by providing operational input cost assumptions and risk assessments.
- Monitor project budgets schedules and KPIs ensuring financial performance meets targets.
- Lead issue resolution and escalation management with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering field services supply chain commercial) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing contracts to expand service portfolio (e.g. lifecycle services digital tools cybersecurity upgrades).
- Ensure compliance with GE Vernova policies local regulations and customer HSE requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Project Management or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or service delivery ideally in the energy transmission HVDC/FACTS or grid solutions sector.
- Proven track record in managing service projects/contracts with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with customer-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of STATCOM technology FACTS systems or high-voltage grid equipment is an advantage.
- Fluency in German (written and spoken); good Englisch (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel (20%).
- PMP/ certification or equivalent is a plus.
