Job Summary

Cost Accounting Manager

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Cost Accounting Manager to join a fast-growing biotech organization focused on cutting-edge innovation in life-changing therapies. This role will oversee cost analysis product costing inventory accounting and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making across manufacturing and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the month-end close process related to cost and inventory including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis

Develop and maintain standard product costing models and cost allocation methodologies

Partner closely with Manufacturing Supply Chain and R&D to analyze operational performance and identify cost-saving opportunities

Monitor inventory movements work orders and production variances to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

Support budgeting and forecasting of COGS manufacturing expenses and capital projects

Implement and improve cost accounting systems tools and internal controls

Conduct periodic cost reviews and present insights to leadership to drive operational efficiency

Support internal and external audit requirements

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)

7 years of progressive cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience preferably in biotech pharma or life sciences

Strong understanding of GAAP inventory valuation and standard costing

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP NetSuite or similar)

Advanced Excel skills with the ability to model data and communicate results clearly

Demonstrated track record of process improvement and cross-functional collaboration
