***Candidates Must Have Manufacturing Experience***
OBJECTIVE
Lead the implementation and administration of an effective EHS program that ensures a safe work environment for employees contractors vendors and visitors. Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable federal state and local environmental industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding interpretation of EHS regulations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with federal state and local regulators. Serve as the primary contact for OSHA EPA or affiliated agencies
- Maintain EHS metrics on a daily weekly monthly and annual basis and develop plans to improve performance by analyzing trends. Maintain OSHA logs and required associated records.
- Investigate and analyze incidents and identify root cause(s). Follow 5-Why or Fault Tree Analysis investigative methods.
- Assist engineering and production with development of corrective actions derived from incident investigations audits or inspections.
- Recommend improvements in processes design procedures and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential or environmental impact.
- Ensure EHS programs policies and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and consistently implemented and enforced.
- Maintain compliance with existing permit requirements. Submit new permit applications or permit renewals as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submittal of all required safety and environmental reports records and fees as required.
- Facilitate site safety meetings. Conduct annual EHS trainings and orientation for new hires.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety Occupational Safety and Health or related field required Masters degree desirable.
- Five years of related experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
