Job Summary

***Candidates Must Have Manufacturing Experience***

OBJECTIVE

Lead the implementation and administration of an effective EHS program that ensures a safe work environment for employees contractors vendors and visitors. Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable federal state and local environmental industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding interpretation of EHS regulations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal state and local regulators. Serve as the primary contact for OSHA EPA or affiliated agencies
  • Maintain EHS metrics on a daily weekly monthly and annual basis and develop plans to improve performance by analyzing trends. Maintain OSHA logs and required associated records.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents and identify root cause(s). Follow 5-Why or Fault Tree Analysis investigative methods.
  • Assist engineering and production with development of corrective actions derived from incident investigations audits or inspections.
  • Recommend improvements in processes design procedures and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential or environmental impact.
  • Ensure EHS programs policies and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and consistently implemented and enforced.
  • Maintain compliance with existing permit requirements. Submit new permit applications or permit renewals as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submittal of all required safety and environmental reports records and fees as required.
  • Facilitate site safety meetings. Conduct annual EHS trainings and orientation for new hires.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety Occupational Safety and Health or related field required Masters degree desirable.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
