About the role:

An exciting opportunity is now available for an Accounts Officer experienced in Accounts Receivable to join our dynamic and hardworking team. This is a full time permanent position based in Labrador on the Gold Coast QLD.

Reporting to the Team Leader - AR you will be responsible for all elements of the accounts receivable function and for the provision and promotion of a high-quality standard of customer service.

This is a high volume fast paced role that requires attention to detail strong organisational and problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of financial processes to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of financial data. You will need to be flexible; customer focussed and work well both autonomously and in a team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generate and send customer invoices and statements as per established billing cycles.
  • Record and post customer payments in the accounting system.
  • Follow up with customers by phone and email on overdue payments and resolve any billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates on accounts receivable aging and collection efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports and analysis related to accounts receivable.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy.

To be considered for this role you need to demonstrate the following selection criteria in your application:

  • Certificate Diploma in Accounting/Book-keeping or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven experience in high volume accounts receivable roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in financial software (SAP and MoPro highly desirable) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working with a high degree of accuracy and pace.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance.
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude.
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach.
