We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Processor to join our finance team. The Payroll Processor will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing to ensure accurate timely and compliant compensation for all employees. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll for employees in accordance with company policies federal state and local regulations.
Collect verify and input payroll data such as hours worked earnings deductions and other relevant information.
Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HRIS/payroll system.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues deductions and tax information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to facilitate new hires terminations and changes in payroll status.
Ensure compliance with applicable wage hour and tax laws.
Prepare and distribute W-2s 1099s and other required documentation.
Assist with payroll audits and generate payroll-related reports as needed.
Stay current with changes in payroll regulations and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field (Bachelors degree preferred).
2 years of payroll processing experience in a corporate or multi-state environment.
Proficiency with payroll software and systems (e.g. ADP Paychex QuickBooks or similar).
Solid understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws.
High level of accuracy attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Pay Rate: $22 - $35 per hour (depending on experience)
