Offshore Coordinator
As the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing US Sailings mission is to provide leadership for the sport of sailing in the United States. US Sailing is seeking an Offshore Coordinator at US Sailing. This position will take a leadership role across the organization in the development and implementation of communication and marketing content strategies to promote the organizations membership programs services products and events to our members and the public.
The Offshore Coordinator supports internal and external operations of the Offshore Office including superior customer service record keeping offshore systems development & implementation in support of sailboat racing in the United conjunction with the Offshore Department team and US Sailings volunteer committees the Offshore Coordinator works with a variety of stakeholders and strategic partners to support US Sailing members and member organizations. This role requires strong organizational skills technical expertise strategic thinking and dedication to customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide superior customer service to offshore customers in areas of:
    • Data submission
    • Application status submitting data and resolving technical difficulties
    • Rating certificate (non-Technical) questions
  • Support certificate processing for all ratings rules managed by US Sailing
  • Support of the relationship with rating rule authorities including day-to-day operations and general support for the rules
  • Responsible for support and maintenance for USA Sail Number Program.
  • Monitor department finances including:
    • Rating rule financial tracking for IRC ORC and ORR
    • Manage transactions and accounts for billing system
    • Manage royalty payments/collections with the rating rules
  • Contribute to internal and external communications within US Sailing: newsletters communications calendars and external communications regarding the Offshore Offices projects and announcements.
  • Provide content and support for updates and development of Offshore Dept. Webpages.
  • Implement updates and maintenance of Offshore Office calendar including internal team calendars and external (public facing) calendars.
  • Coordinate Offshore Office presentations and external community outreach development and coordination.
  • Liaise with Organizing Authorities for Offshore Department including daily communications fleet certificate status and development and coordination of bi-annual stakeholder meeting.

Qualifications:
  • At least two years of related experience
  • Experience in big boat/offshore racing community or field.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse constituency on both technical and inter-personal levels
  • Belief in the Olympic movement
  • Appreciation for the sport of sailing
