Job Overview:
Our client a leading print media company is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Circulation Sales Executive to drive newspaper sales strengthen distribution networks and maximize circulation revenue. The ideal candidate will manage the entire sales and distribution chain from planning and forecasting to tracking sales managing returns and building strong relationships with distributors and retailers across the region.
This role involves frequent travel across Kenya and Africa to support field operations identify growth opportunities and ensure efficient circulation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve circulation sales targets revenue goals and volume budgets.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities outlets and subscription markets.
- Drive field sales activities to boost copy sales and brand presence.
- Coordinate daily circulation operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of newspapers.
- Identify new sales outlets and liaise with distributors for efficient deliveries.
- Develop both short-term and long-term distribution strategies to improve market reach.
- Manage and monitor returns/unsold newspapers to minimize waste and loss.
- Ensure that all copies are accounted for through PODs signatures photos and other verification methods.
- Review sales performance and payments with distributors ensuring proper reconciliation with the finance team.
- Collect payments monitor outstanding balances and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Organize and support client relationship programs in collaboration with distributors.
- Conduct market research to understand customer behavior competition and emerging trends.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance distribution efficiency and market opportunities.
- Offer analytical insights to guide circulation strategies and business decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Management Sales Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the print media industry.
- Strong understanding of newspaper sales dynamics value chain processes and distribution channels.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and manage large territories.
- Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and market research capabilities.
- Self-driven results-oriented and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Good people-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
