Performance Audit - PA3

The Importance of Performance Audits
Performance audits evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs with the goal of making them work better.
These audits compare what an agency is currently doing against whats required by law and recommended by leading practices to look for improved outcomes that could include money saving methods or better processes for service delivery. By detailing problems and offering solutions performance audits improve public services and provide valuable information to the public program leadership and elected officials.
Duties: Under minimal supervision from a Senior or Principal Performance Auditor serves as the Auditor-In-Charge of the largest and/or most complex performance audits and risk assessments designed to significantly improve the performance accountability and efficiency of state and local government. Has overall responsibility for each audit engagement from audit planning through final audit presentation and is expected to mentor and develop the skills of staff assigned to the audit.
Audits are conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) as prescribed by the United States Government Accountability Office and other applicable laws regulations and professional standards.
