The support unit for ethics committees aims to improve the quality and efficiency of the actions of the Ethics Committee for Research with Medicines (CEIM) and the Animal Experimentation Committee (CEEA) of the Vall dHebron University Hospital in accordance with current Catalan state and European legislation.
VHIR offers a vacant position within its Research Organization for a Project Manager to support the Ethics Committee for Research with Medicines (CEIM) and the Animal Experimentation Committee (CEEA) activities.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Advanced Degree or equivalent in Health Sciences
- Training in bioethics and the legal framework of clinical trials
- Specific training related to ethics committees
- Very good command of Catalan Spanish and English (essential)
Desired:
- Specific/Additional training in CTIS
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 1 year of experience performing tasks related to the management of EECC/Research projects and the associated regulatory environment
- A sense of responsibility and work organisational skills
- Independence and flexibility
- Communication skills and teamwork

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Provide advice to Investigators promoters and CROs on the administrative steps (requirements procedures documentation) or technical queries to be made in the submission of applications for evaluation in the CEIM.
- Support the CEIM technical secretariat in its functions especially when responsibilities overlap with those of the head of the unit when he/she is not present due to unavoidable work-related reasons.
- Manage the tasks of monitoring ongoing research projects at HUVH ensuring compliance with current legislation in this area. Receipt processing and archiving of annual and final reports protocol deviations etc.
- Ensure that the activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements established in the procedures of the units quality system promoting and implementing continuous improvement in its scope of action.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
