Tekberry is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Life Science Research Professional 1 to join our client a world-renowned academic medical this role you will support research within the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery contributing to projects focused on nerve injury nerve regeneration and regenerative neurobiology.
You will independently conduct experiments analyze and interpret data develop and modify research protocols and support publication efforts. This position plays a critical role in advancing translational research aimed at improving treatments for patients with facial paralysis.

Responsibilities
Experimental Design & Research Execution (40%) -
Independently plan perform and troubleshoot complex experiments supporting major research projects.

Modify existing protocols or develop new ones when literature guidance is limited.

Perform cell culture aseptic work and wet-lab techniques with minimal supervision.

Maintain accurate records of experimental conditions results and observations.
Data Analysis & Scientific Communication (25%) -
Analyze interpret and summarize experimental results including statistical evaluation.

Contribute to manuscripts especially the results section and assist with grant submission materials.
-
Present work in internal lab meetings and potentially at scientific conferences.
-
Conduct literature reviews to support experimental planning and protocol development.
Laboratory Operations & Technical Support (20%) -
Manage daily lab operations including ordering supplies tracking equipment usage and maintaining inventories.

Oversee safety documentation chemical logs and laboratory compliance records.

Serve as a technical resource for other lab members and provide general laboratory support.
Supervision & Team Collaboration (15%) -
Provide guidance to students junior staff or trainees on experimental techniques.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the School of Medicine.

Offer input on project direction and assist with coordination of shared lab resources.
Must-Have Qualifications -
Bachelors degree in Biology Neurobiology/Neuroscience Bioengineering or related field.

Minimum 2 years of wet-lab experience as a lab technician or research assistant.

Proficiency in cell culture aseptic technique and core molecular/biochemical laboratory methods.

Strong data analysis skills and ability to troubleshoot experiments independently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational ability to manage sample inventories lab documentation and concurrent experiments.

Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance and minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications -
Masters degree in a related scientific discipline.

Experience working with vertebrate animal models (mouse or rat).
-
Interest in regenerative neurobiology or translational research for nerve injury.

Experience contributing to scientific manuscripts or abstracts.

Prior experience supervising or training junior researchers.
