Where Youll Work

Holy Cross Hospital Davis runs two Emergency Departments. The main department is 21-beds in Layton City as part of the hospital. It is a Level 3 Trauma center a Primary Stroke center and a Chest Pain center with an average volume of over 2000 patients per month. The other is a stand-alone Emergency Department in Roy City that has 14 beds and sees an average volume of over 28 patients each day. Team members in these departments are courageous motivated and have a keen interest in emergency medicine. With a variety of patients this team treats anything and everything from traumas heart attacks septic and psychiatric patients to sore throats earaches lacerations and ingrown toenails. The ED is a fast paced and intense environment that fosters a culture of teamwork and comradery. Prioritizing multi-tasking critical thinking and assisting others are extremely important. This department is a great place to learn and become proficient in multiple nursing skills. Training is intense and never-ending. A strong knowledge of all disease and injury physiology and processes is extremely important. You will work alongside board certified emergency physicians and highly skilled PAs and NPs. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or departments daily functions to the success of this role include:

  • Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity supporting initiatives and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Focus on patient safety patient experience and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
  • Support professional development to improve employee retention.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day qualified Assistant Nurse Manager candidates will need the following:

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience preferred
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment
  • Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP EFM TNCC etc.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification:
    • Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
    • Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs frequently and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
