A long-standing precision machining company with over 100 years of experience located in Elkhart Indiana is adding a Screw Machinist to their team. This team specializes in producing high-quality components for industries such as agriculture heavy equipment fluid power and electrical systems. Our capabilities include multi-spindle screw machines CNC turning grinding and vertical machining centers.

Screw Machinist Position Overview

They are seeking experienced and motivated individuals to set up and operate single and multi-spindle screw machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality parts efficiently.

Responsibilities

Set up operate and maintain multi-spindle screw machines using established procedures and layouts
Perform tooling adjustments tool changes and minor machine repairs
Read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring instruments and gauges
Submit first-piece samples to the quality department and perform in-process inspections
Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with company standards
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and quality
Follow all safety and quality policies within our ISO 9001:2015 certified system
Experience with Acme screw machines required
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Screw Machinist Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read blueprints and use micrometers and other precision tools
Must provide own basic tools and micrometers
Must pass a drug screen and background check
Basic math test administered during interview

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. 12:00 a.m.
Monday Friday (overtime available)
