Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up operating and monitoring 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong experience in tool identification presetting and working with complex multi-axis machining processes in a production or job-shop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision parts
- Identify select and install appropriate cutting tools fixtures and workholding
- Perform tool presetting offsets and tool length/radius adjustments
- Load and verify CNC programs; make minor program edits as needed
- Interpret blueprints GD&T work instructions and CNC setup sheets
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds speeds and offsets to optimize quality and cycle times
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling fixtures materials or programs
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
- Follow all safety quality and housekeeping standards
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
