TICKET SCANNER
Reports To: Ticket Scanning Supervisor
Department: Guest Services
Status: Part Time/Full Time Seasonal
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ticket Scanner position is responsible for greeting guests and verifying chairlift passengers have valid ticket or pass for chairlift access confirming that a waiver has been signed and verifying the identity on the scanner with that of the pass/ticket media holder. This position requires standing and walking outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme weather conditions interacting with hundreds of guests throughout each shift. Also performs ticket agent duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greet guests with friendly welcoming demeanor.
- Scan each ticket/pass media to verify valid chairlift access signed waiver and confirm identity matches person with media being used.
- Detain guests whose ticket/pass media does not match identity or is not valid and follow protocol for the situation.
- Sell lift tickets rental equipment and ski school lessons daily.
- Process coupons and promotions as required.
- Process credit card transactions and adhere strictly to guest and other privacy policies.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are in place and adhered to at all times.
- Organize prepaid reservation packets for the following day.
- Complete closing procedures for individual selling stations.
- Sell and process Granby Ranch Season Passes.
- Work with other departments to ensure goals are met and processes are effective.
- Keeping a calm organized and positive environment at all times.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an exceptional level of guest service in all interactions with guests fellow employees and other department managers.
- Assist with lift maze set up.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Computer literacy and keyboard knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to comprehend speak read and write English fluently.
- Ability to handle guest interactions both positive and negative in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions in English.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent or actively enrolled in High School.
- Must be at least age 16.
- Customer service experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Standing walking dexterity for keyboard handheld scanner.
- Dexterity Auditory and Visual capabilities for operating scanning equipment and interacting with hundreds of guests per shift.
