DescriptionSpecial Education Teacher
Inova Kellar School Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team. TheSpecial Education Teacherworks within a defined schedule during a 10.5-month academic year. All hours and job duties are applicable to 10.5 months. This role will be full-time night shift from Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

Special Education Teacher Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures that student progress is measured by written and alternate response modes (i.e. tests quizzes homework class participation reports and projects).
- Ensures that the quality of documentation reflects progress on IEP goals and objectives in a timely professional and informative manner.
- Formulates mutually agreed-upon IEP goals and objectives with clients by utilizing all available resources.
- Uses pre-assessment data to develop expectations for students to differentiate instructions and to document learning.
- Establishes clear expectations with student input for classroom guidelines and procedures early in the school year and enforces them and the school-wide behavior management protocol consistently and fairly.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors Degree in relevant field
- Experience: One year of professional experience in a school setting.
- Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation- Within 3 months
- Licensure: Within 6 Months Must hold or be eligible to hold a Collegiate Professional License or Postgraduate professional license or provisional license with the Department of Education Commonwealth of Virginia

- Working with Middle or High School students
