Senior MEP Project Manager Data Centres

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business we are currently recruiting for an experienced site based Senior MEP Project Managers to join our Data Centre team in Portugal.

This position plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance and quality control of multiple construction contractors overseeing work put in place to ensure industrial processes materials and products by performing the following duties.

• Lead and coordinate MEP design and construction activities for data centre projects ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements
• Develop and manage project schedules budgets and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects engineers and contractors to resolve technical issues and optimise MEP system performance
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress quality control and compliance with safety standards
• Analyse and mitigate project risks implementing proactive solutions to potential challenges
• Ensure compliance with local building codes regulations and industry standards for data centre construction
• Oversee the commissioning and testing of MEP systems guaranteeing optimal performance and energy efficiency
• Prepare and present detailed project reports including progress updates and financial forecasts to senior management and stakeholders
• Implement and maintain best practices for sustainable and energy-efficient data centre design and construction

Qualifications :

• Degree in Mechanical Electrical or Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in MEP project management gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems data centre infrastructure energy efficiency strategies and high-voltage electrical substations
• Proficiency in project management software 
• Strong understanding of Spanish building codes and regulations related to data centre construction
• Excellent budget management risk assessment and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders
• Highly motivated self-starter 
• Ability to multi-task and identify priority activities
• Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify priority activities
• Availability for on-site work
