- Provision of carpentry services as required to the highest quality standard.
- Liaise with individual departments and the Maintenance Manager in relation to work requirements.
- Plan and prioritise jobs to ensure deadlines are met and emergencies are handled appropriately.
- Provide back-up support in various areas to replace absent employees when required.
- Work in harmony with all other Hotel/Resort Staff.
- Attend training programs as required.
- Completion of daily carpentry maintenance and repairs ie. as reported from guest rooms individual Departments and Duty Managers.
- Alterations throughout the Hotel/Resort complex.
- Glazing ie. Replacing broken windowpanes.
- Tiling ie. Re-grouting shower recesses etc.
- Repair and installation of internal and external fittings as required eg. sliding doors fly screens tiling drawers cupboard doors door locks curtain rods etc.
- Any other tasks assigned by your manager.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Carpenter preferably in a hotel resort or facilities maintenance environment.
- Experience with repairs installations and alterations involving timber glazing and tiling work.
- Familiarity with general maintenance and building services tasks.
- Strong carpentry skills (e.g. doors windows fittings cabinetry).
- Basic glazing skills (replacing windowpanes).
- Basic tiling and grouting skills.
- Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to diagnose and repair minor structural or maintenance issues.
- Planning and time management skills to prioritize jobs and meet deadlines.
- Communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with other departments and staff.
- Customer service orientation especially in a hospitality setting.
- Adaptability and flexibility to assist in other maintenance areas when required.
