About the role:

We are looking to recruit a permanent Licensing Enforcement Officer to support the Councils private sector housing enforcement and licensing functions.

The appointed officer will display a commitment to strong enforcement actions using the full range of regulatory powers. Displaying excellent verbal and written communication skills and flexibility in working patterns and practices the successful candidate will play a central role in the delivery of housing enforcement and licensing objectives.

The successful applicant will ensure that all aspects of commerciality are fully integrated into their day to day role as a front line field officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake work in a timely manner and in compliance with the requirements of the relevant officer authorisations/service policies/ procedures
  • Carry out inspections/assessments to a professional standard
  • Prepare letters and witness statements
  • Attendance at Court/Tribunal as necessary to give evidence in prosecution /civil cases as expert witness
  • Willingness to work flexibly
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times

Qualifications and Requirements:

English and Math Qualification

Relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification

Desirable: Qualification relevant to job role
