Services Research Support and Valorization

Research Support and Valorization consists of the Research Support Office (RSO) and startup helpdesk The Gate. RSO supports and unburdens researchers with obtaining external funding for their research and developing project proposals. At The Gate business developers and IP-experts offer support in translating research results into successful innovations and new companies.

Introduction

Due to the importance of personal grants for the careers of individual researchers and for the university we are looking for aPersonal Grants Advisor (0.8 - 1.0 FTE)

Research Support Office

The Research Support Office (RSO) consists of a close-knit team of professionals who support academic staff in applying for European and national research grants. The RSO team includes the Grant Support team (for the various research grant programs) program managers project managers and lawyers.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to support our academic staff in writing and submitting proposals for personal grants such as those for the NWO Talent Program ERC and Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions. You will work centrally within the Grant Support team of the Research Support Office a friendly and close-knit team. Your daily work will be part of the Personal Grants team which is part of the Grant Support addition to providing information and feedback on proposals the Personal Grants team also offers various information sessions and training modules. This position offers a high degree of diversity and independence within the team.

Responsibilities and activities of the personal grants advisor

  • Informing researchers about funding opportunities related to personal grants.
  • Supporting advising and encouraging researchers in writing proposals.
  • Reviewing proposals and providing feedback.
  • Co-developing organizing and delivering courses workshops and information sessions.
  • Serving as a discussion partner for applicants.
  • Interacting with other support staff in the areas of grants finance and HR.

Job Requirements

For this position we are looking for a colleague who:

  • has experience supporting researchers in writing grant applications preferably (also) personal grants.
  • has experience giving presentations/courses.
  • is able to motivate professionals and coordinate their activities.
  • has an academic working and thinking level.
  • has good communication skills and is strong in transferring and sharing knowledge.
  • has good written and oral skills in Dutch and English.
  • is proactive customer-focused analytical results-oriented and a networker.
  • can work independently and flexibly.
  • is a team player and collaborates well with colleagues both within and outside the team.

Conditions of Employment

  • A monthly salary of minimum 4728 to maximum 7297 for full-time employment depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 11-12 of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities) for a full-time position; an entry-level scale may apply;
