Role Overview The Senior Project Manager provides project management rigor to large complex and politically sensitive strategic initiatives that are not solely IT-focused. Projects may involve industry issues service delivery changes policy or legislative updates new product/program creation business improvements or organizational transformation. The role leads project planning execution delivery and closure while ensuring alignment with business needs quality standards and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Work within PMO standards; where none exist collaborate with PMO to define new standards.

Partner with program areas to develop proposals project charters planning documents and project artifacts.

Develop a project organization structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Manage and control projects to meet scope schedule budget quality and performance standards.

Identify milestones critical success factors dependencies policy implications metrics and resource requirements.

Contribute to deliverables such as research survey design drafted reports and other planning materials.

Monitor document and report on project progress regularly.

Plan lead and participate in project meetings and steering committee meetings.

Document changes in scope budget and schedule; manage signoffs and communicate updates to sponsors and PMO.

Identify risks issues and opportunities; develop mitigation strategies and track follow-through.

Provide business/process analysis change management and communication support as needed.

Complete formal handover of all project documentation to the PMO.

Assess project outcomes document lessons learned and provide recommendations for future projects.

Required Experience -
5 years direct experience in non-IT project management

3 years experience defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders

3 years experience developing project deliverables (charters business cases etc.)

5 years experience providing resourceful recommendations on complex or technical matters
-
3 years experience managing multiple concurrent projects
Nice-to-Have Experience -
3 years experience creating and managing project forecasts using MS Project

5 years experience facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels
-
5 years experience using MS Project in a Project Server environment

3 years experience working in or with the public sector
