Schedule: Full-time Monday Friday 7:00 AM 6:00 PM (flexible 8-hour shift)

Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Building Manager to work onsite with our this role you will support day-to-day operations for research and academic facilities-ensuring buildings are safe sustainable efficient and compliant with university and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities Facility Operations & Maintenance (50%)

Serve as the primary point of contact for building operations maintenance and repairs.

Coordinate and monitor custodial landscaping pest control utilities and equipment maintenance services.

Conduct regular inspections identify issues and implement preventive maintenance programs.
-
Oversee vendor performance approve invoices and ensure work completion within budget and compliance standards.
-
Manage maintenance and renovation budgets recommending operational improvements and cost-saving measures.
Safety & Compliance (30%)
-
Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to maintain compliance with safety fire and environmental regulations.
-
Support hazardous materials management emergency preparedness and safety corrective actions.
-
Implement building security measures including key distribution access control and alarm systems.
-
Respond to emergencies and facility incidents; ensure 24-hour availability for urgent situations.
Space & Project Coordination (20%)
-
Support space planning and utilization across multiple facilities.
-
Coordinate faculty and staff moves ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and research.
-
Analyze utility usage provide data-driven recommendations for energy efficiency and track sustainability goals.

Maintain accurate documentation of building systems maintenance records and project data.
Must-Have Qualifications -
Bachelors degree and 5 years of facilities management building operations or related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing life safety access control).
-
Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple vendors projects and budgets simultaneously.
-
Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
-
Working proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
-
Valid California Drivers License.
-
Experience with hazardous materials handling and/or lab or research environments preferred.
Preferred Qualifications -
Experience in academic research or laboratory facilities management.

Knowledge of Stanford University policies and facilities systems.
-
Familiarity with emergency response safety audits and compliance reporting.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
Work Environment -
Onsite Monday Friday.

Requires standing walking occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs.) and working at heights (4 10 ft.).
-
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
May require after-hours or weekend response for urgent facility issues.
