Job Title: Plant Sciences - Research scientist 1

Location: Research Triangle Park NC 27709

Duration: 6 Months

Job Type: Contract

Work Type: Onsite

Job Description:

Duties:

Perform plant and seed production based activities with commercial crops such as soybean and maize in greenhouses and growth chambers in the well-controlled growth environment.
Common tasks performed
Plant care including hand watering fertilizing and plant maintenance
Planting sampling transplanting pollinating and discarding plants
Plant growth performance observations and data collections
Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements

Skills:

Ability to perform all physical duties required in greenhouse operations under well controlled environment conditions.
Ability to work weekends and occasionally holidays.
Greenhouse experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations
Pay attention to plant care and experimental details
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Commitment and adherence to excellent stewardship practices
Perform all tasks in compliance with HSE safety guidelines related to company policies and practices
Ability to use MS office software (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint) and other databases efficiently

Education:

BS degree or equivalent in agronomy horticulture or plant science related field or an associate degree with 2 years of experience in plant biology
