The Role:

Suncorp Personal Injury Claims (PIC) aspires to be the leading personal injury insurer. Due toanexcitingnewpositionwe have an opportunityfor a LitigationSpecialistto join our CTP Claims business. Thisrole will seeyou providingtechnicalexpertiseand support to the claims team toassistwith strategic claims management decision making.

The purpose of this role is to providea high levelof technicalexpertiseand strategic insight toassistin the development ofappropriate strategiesto enable the department to meet businessobjectivesduring the Compulsory Conference and Litigated Phases.

You will actively share knowledge advice and coach others to build and develop technical capabilities to create a high performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technicalexpertiseand support to the claims team toassistwith strategic claims management decision making
• Provide technicalexpertiseand/or mentoring to support to the claims team to ensureappropriate performancestandards are achieved
• Provide technicalexpertiseand insight into the management of litigated claims and implement and develop frameworks to improve performance in conjunction with Panel Lawyers and Claims Staff
• Provide technicalexpertiseto the claims staff in relation to Mandatory Final Offers and in the Post Compulsory Conferenceandpre-Litigation Phase
• Attendance at CompulsoryConferences acrossQueensland
• Develop and drive strategies to reduce durations in the litigated phase in connection with the Technical Specialists
• Develop professional working relationships with external stakeholders particularly plaintiff law firms to drive customer outcomes.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years technical or complex in house CTP claims experience
• Degree in Business Legal or Insurance related field
• Diploma or Certificate IV in Insurance or equivalent
