We are looking for an experienced and innovative professional to join CALL Scotland as an Assistive Technology and Additional Support Needs Consultant.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people with additional support needs across Scotland by ensuring they can access learning and communication through appropriate technology.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however we are open to considering part-time (28 hours per week). This post is open-ended with a review date and subject to continued funding for the post

Grade UE08. The salary for this post is 50253 to 61759 per annum.

As a consultant you will:

  • Support the assessment and provision for learners who require specialist assistive and communication technology.
  • Provide authoritative consultancy and advice to schools local authorities allied professionals and families embedding sustainable inclusive practice.
  • Design deliver and evaluate professional learning programmes and online resources to build practitioner capacity across Scotland.
  • Contribute to applied research development of national resources and dissemination of innovation through publications conferences and digital platforms.
  • Support collaboration with national agencies local authorities and other stakeholders to influence inclusive education policy and provision.
  • The role requires travel across Scotland and provides opportunities to contribute to teaching within Moray House and to develop your national and international profile in assistive technology and inclusive education.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Degree in Education or a relevant discipline with GTCS or HCPC registration (or equivalent professional body membership).
  • Significant experience working directly with learners with additional support needs using assistive/communication technologies.
  • Proven expertise in assessment intervention and support for learners with ASN.
    Experience of devising and delivering impactful professional learning in assistive technology or AAC.
  • Strong collaborative skills with experience of working alongside teachers educational psychologists AHPs and other professionals.
  • Excellent digital written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
