Through our partnership with the University of Melbourne youll guide and inspire final-year DVM students shaping the next generation of veterinarians while leading the ECC team to deliver outstanding patient and client care. As Head of Department youll also work alongside specialists in Surgery Medicine Neurology Oncology Anaesthesia and Diagnostic Imaging playing a central role in a hospital where multidisciplinary teamwork drives innovation learning and lasting change.
What youll do
- Lead and grow our ECC team fostering a supportive and high-performing culture.
- Deliver best-practice emergency care while mentoring interns ECC vets and final-year DVM students.
- Shape departmental strategy ensuring sustainable growth efficiency and service excellence.
- Build systems that promote high clinical standards exceptional student outcomes and team engagement
- Work closely with the hospital leadership team on strategic initiatives and hospital growth
What were looking for
- A veterinarian registered (or eligible for registration) in Victoria.
- Memberships in Emergency & Critical Care (MANZCVS) are preferred but not essential
- Leadership skills with the ability to engage and inspire teams.
- A passion for education and mentoring experience teaching students or junior clinicians is highly valued.
- Commitment to continuous improvement collaboration and evidence-based practice.
