As Head of Department youll also work alongside specialists in Surgery Medicine Neurology Oncology Anaesthesia and Diagnostic Imaging playing a central role in a hospital where multidisciplinary teamwork drives innovation learning and lasting change. 

What youll do

• Lead and grow our ECC team fostering a supportive and high-performing culture.
• Deliver best-practice emergency care while mentoring interns ECC vets and final-year DVM students.
• Shape departmental strategy ensuring sustainable growth efficiency and service excellence.
• Build systems that promote high clinical standards exceptional student outcomes and team engagement
• Work closely with the hospital leadership team on strategic initiatives and hospital growth

What were looking for

• A veterinarian registered (or eligible for registration) in Victoria.
• Memberships in Emergency & Critical Care (MANZCVS) are preferred but not essential
• Leadership skills with the ability to engage and inspire teams.
• A passion for education and mentoring experience teaching students or junior clinicians is highly valued.
• Commitment to continuous improvement collaboration and evidence-based practice.
