Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Security Shift Manager at Wynn Resorts is to ensure the overall safety and security of employees guests and property while upholding the Forbes Five-star standards and the Wynn Resort Core Values and Behaviors. The Security Shift Manager requires a positive attitude strong leadership abilities and the capacity to provide guidance support and oversight to the security officers shift counterparts and specialty security teams. The Security Shift Manager is accountable for the overall work performance of the security staff administrative duties and any additional responsibilities assigned by Senior Managers or the absence of the Security Assistant Director the Security Shift Manager assumes their duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties
The Security Shift Manager essential functions are to ensure all interactions between guests and employees adhere to the Forbes Five-star standards. Security Shift Manager will maintain the safety liability and integrity of the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas. This role is expected to monitor all shift employees understand and enforce all company and department policies and procedures and ensure proper shift staffing. All guest and employee inquiries and concerns will be handled with the utmost professionalism all while providing satisfactory solutions. The Security Shift Manager will maintain comprehensive shift reports complete delegated tasks and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Plan direct control and coordinate all activities within the shift ensuring smooth operations.
- Foster teamwork mentorship and success by actively encouraging and supporting team members.
- Monitor and observe patrons ensuring compliance with applicable laws and established policies.
- Ensure security officers fulfill essential functions and post orders.
- Respond to and resolve security-related calls for service efficiently handle and resolve situations.
- Maintain consistency in all interactions with patrons and employees uphold Forbes Five Star standards and promote hotel facilities and services.
- Effectively handle internal and external patrons exercise patience tact and diplomacy when working with Hotel Management or departmental management.
- Collaborate closely with Hotel Management Corporate Investigations Guest Claims Crisis Management to prioritize safety and security.
- Ensure accurate completion of all shift administrative duties including attendance discipline schedules briefing material payroll compensation vacation requests maintenance of license and work cards email correspondence and overtime justifications.
- Display a professional demeanor through attire and behavior consistently displaying integrity and accountability.
- Understand adhere to and enforce Wynn Company and Security Department policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on applicable gaming city state and federal laws.
- Maintain command and control during security and safety events providing appropriate incident response.
- Possess a thorough understanding of Security Officer Assistant Manager and Supervisor roles and be able to fulfill these functions if necessary.
- Regularly communicate company updates policy changes hotel occupancy special events and messages from senior management to department team members.
- Ensure timely completion of special projects and assignments.
- Provide support to Senior Security Management and Property Executives.
- Maintain regular communication with the Assistant Directors sharing incident notifications changes disciplinary items observations and recommendations regarding Security Department operations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all department emergency response and unified command protocols as well as being prepared to assume command in the absence of higher levels of leadership.
- Attend required training classes meetings and company functions.
- Work in conjunction with local law enforcement to resolve issues of criminal nature.
- Fill in for Security Special Events Manager as necessary.
- Investigate and document allegations of misconduct and/or policy violations.
- Maintain high standards of resort appearance by continuously walking the floors inspecting public areas and back-of-house areas. Identify and correct conditions that may impact patron or employee experience.
- Responsible for monitoring officers and ensuring they always maintain Wynn Resort Core Values and Behaviors and the Forbes Five-star standards of service to guests and employees.
- Maintain full knowledge of overall Wynn and Encore facilities outlets and services.
- Ensure appropriate officer response for incident and scene management.
- Solution-oriented avoid conflict and gossip stay on task and promotes teamwork.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skill and knowledge of assigned staff.
- Provide positive and constructive feedback on the performance of staff to support the professional growth of staff.
- Instill teamwork mentor others and encourage success at every opportunity.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment.
- May be assigned additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications :
- Previous hospitality experience highly preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years in supervisory or management experience required.
- Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal & written. Must be able to communicate with guests management and other employees to their understanding. Second language preferred but not required.
- Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to deal with concerns involving guest employees and operational issues all while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong ability to learn multiple computer systems and understanding of Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to work effectively in stressful high-pressure situations
- Must have excellent negotiation problem solving leadership and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to work alone or in a team
- Must maintain confidentiality of patron information and pertinent hotel data.
- Perform essential job functions with attention to detail.
- Be able to stand sit kneel lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.
- A valid Nevada Gaming License CPR and Alcohol Awareness certification are required and must be obtained before entering this position.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
