Dressmaker, Costume Tailor

What Youll Do

• Construct alter and maintain costumes and garments for actors or performers
• Work closely with costume designers and production leads to bring character visions to life
• Select textiles and materials that perform under lighting camera and movement
• Perform on-site fittings adjustments and quick alterations during production
• Organize and care for your costume inventory ensuring quality and continuity
• Manage stitching finishing and detail work including hand-sewing embroidery and embellishment
• Keep up-to-date with fashion trends film costume design and sewing techniques

Who You Are

• Proven experience in tailoring costume making or garment construction
• Strong sewing skills attention to detail and a passion for textiles
• Knowledge of different fabrics draping and garment structure
• Able to adapt quickly to changing design needs and tight schedules
• Collaborative communicative and proactive in problem-solving
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
